About us

In 2022 we - Josta and Anja - started Silk Appeal. From our desire to make something beautiful and do something that makes us happy! And that is designing and making sustainable silk tops.

Silk!
We both love silk. It is a beautiful, natural material and a silk top is a beautiful product that you can enjoy for years if you take good care of it. Silk drapes beautifully, wears wonderfully and makes you shine!

Sustainability
We also find sustainability extremely important. There is no webshop with sustainable silk tops in the Netherlands yet. With that, the idea for Silk Appeal was born! We produce our tops as sustainably as possible. Our fabrics have a quality mark, are produced by a manufacturer that has a quality mark or come from 'dead stock'. Dead stock means supplies that have once been ordered, but have not been used and therefore remain unused on the shelf. As a result, several of our tops have a 'limited edition', simply because there is no more fabric. We also ensure that those who make our fabrics receive a fair wage: economic sustainability.

You can also contribute to sustainability yourself! For example, by choosing slow fashion. By purchasing a few timeless tops that you can combine well, you can make the conscious choice to buy less clothing. And if you care for our tops correctly, you can enjoy them for years to come.
